Ms. Patti L. Hanson

Patti Hanson has 20 years experience in resolving people-related business issues with particular expertise in employee retention and integration for divestitures, acquisitions, and outsourcing engagements. She also has extensive experience in business reorganization, project management, succession planning, training and development, executive staffing, and design of compensation plans. As an independent contractor, Patti provides HR strategic partnership to senior executives as well as tactical implementation of HR policies, processes and procedures.

Patti has managed downsizing, reorganization, and explosive growth and has worked on both the acquiring side of organizations with 500+ employees to the selling side of a divestiture of a $2 billion division with 1,000+ employees. Taking key roles in overall transition management, Patti has established and implemented staffing and transition plans, created employee communication strategies, and coordinated the project management of critical, behind-the-scenes actions related to organizational changes.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Patti served as Vice President of Human Resources for the technology acquisition services division of an IT consulting and outsourcing company. Patti also managed the operation center for the organization's employee population of 8,000. This included overall responsibility for compensation administration, benefits administration, HRIS data entry, and all employee transaction processing from hire to termination. In addition, Patti has senior-level HR experience in both the retail industry and in the food services division of a Fortune 500 company.

Patti is a skilled training professional, having developed and delivered training programs for all levels from senior executives to non-exempt employees on subjects such as process improvement, sexual harassment, diversity, staffing and selection, interaction management, and basic management skills.

Patti earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Regis College in Denver and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development at Webster University in Kansas City. She is Chairperson of the Public Relations/ Marketing Committee of Human Resource Management Association of Johnson County (HRMAJC), and serves on the Board of Directors. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She is an author of business articles in prominent HR and business circulations and has recently completed a study of workplace retention in her new book, The M&A Transition Guide: A Ten-Step Roadmap for Workforce Integration, published by John Wiley & Sons in April 2001. Patti is available for training and speaking engagements on topics such as employee retention, mergers and acquisitions, and change management, as well as general leadership and management skills.
